    The 2025–26 Ethiopian coffee harvest runs through the main picking season, with washed lots shipping first and natural lots following once drying completes. This page tracks picking dates, processing progress and shipping windows by region, so importers can time contracts for Yirgacheffe, Sidama, Guji and Harrar.

    October 2025Complete

    Early cherry picking begins — Sidama and Guji

    • ·First cherry picking commenced in Bensa (Sidama) from 5 October.
    • ·Guji Hambela washing stations received first cherry deliveries.
    • ·Rainfall in September slightly above average — positive for cherry density.
    November 2025Complete

    Peak harvest — Yirgacheffe, Sidama, Guji

    • ·Peak picking across Yirgacheffe (Konga, Kochere, Idido) through November.
    • ·Sidama Bombe naturals placed on raised beds — first lots drying.
    • ·Guji Uraga washed lots entering fermentation tanks.
    • ·Early quality reports: strong cherry density, good sugar development.

    Harrar harvest begins — dry processing underway across south

    • ·Harrar (East Hararghe) cherry picking commenced mid-December.
    • ·Yirgacheffe washed lots completing fermentation and drying.
    • ·Sidama naturals at 12–16 days on raised beds — on track.
    • ·Jimma washed lots entering dry milling for early shipment.

    Harvest closes — dry milling and grading

    • ·Main harvest complete across Yirgacheffe, Sidama, Guji.
    • ·Harrar picking continues through late January.
    • ·Dry milling begins for washed Yirgacheffe and Sidama Bensa lots.
    • ·Initial cupping: Yirgacheffe Konga scoring 88–90, excellent clarity.

    First washed lots available — export permits issued

    • ·Yirgacheffe Konga washed (EA-YIR-W-2526-001) cupped and approved: 88.5 average.
    • ·Sidama Bensa washed (EA-SID-W-2526-001) cleared export — 86.8 average.
    • ·ECX export permits issued for February shipments.
    • ·First container (Yirgacheffe washed + Sidama washed) shipped 22 February.
    March 2026Complete

    Naturals approved — Guji micro-lots released

    • ·Sidama Bombe natural (EA-SID-N-2526-001) completed drying — 57 days on bed. Cupped at 87.2.
    • ·Guji Hambela natural (EA-GUJ-N-2526-001) released — outstanding lot, 89.0 SCA.
    • ·Harrar Longberry Grade 1 dry milling complete. First lots shipped.
    • ·Jimma Gera washed available — ideal for espresso blends.

    Shipping window open — EU arrivals beginning

    • ·February shipments arriving Hamburg and Rotterdam from mid-April.
    • ·March shipments en route — ETA Europe early May.
