EUDR documentation for Ethiopian coffee
Ethiopian Arabica provides the complete EUDR documentation set as standard for all EU-bound shipments: GPS coordinates to cooperative level, due diligence statements, ICO certificates, and ECTA quality documentation. Everything your compliance team needs before placing an order.
EUDR-compliant Ethiopian coffee requires GPS plot data traced to cooperative level, a due diligence statement, and supporting export certificates such as ICO certificates. EU importers must hold this documentation for each shipment, and this page lists exactly what we supply with every lot to meet the regulation.
What EUDR requires for coffee imports
EU Regulation 2023/1115 requires every operator placing coffee on the EU market to demonstrate that the coffee was not grown on land deforested after 31 December 2020 and was produced in compliance with the origin country's laws. The regulation covers green coffee, roasted coffee, and coffee-containing products.
In practical terms, EU importers must submit a due diligence statement to the EU Information System (IS) before each consignment is released for free circulation. The statement requires GPS coordinates for every plot or area where the coffee was grown, identification of all supply chain actors, and a risk assessment.

How our GPS traceability works
Cooperative mapping
Every cooperative and washing station in our supply chain has been GPS-mapped with polygon coordinates covering the collection area. This mapping was completed in 2024–25 and updated with the 2025–26 harvest.
Lot-level traceability
Each lot we sell is linked to a specific washing station with its GPS coordinates. The lot ID on your contract matches the cooperative record in our traceability database.
Data transfer to buyer
On contract confirmation, we send you the GPS data file formatted for the EU IS platform, alongside the due diligence statement template pre-filled with your lot's supply chain data.
Operator submission
You (as EU operator) submit the due diligence statement to the EU IS before the goods enter free circulation. We remain available to answer EUDR authority queries about the supply chain.
Frequently asked questions
What is EUDR and when does it apply to coffee?
EU Regulation 2023/1115 (the EU Deforestation Regulation) requires operators placing commodities including coffee on the EU market to prove the product was not grown on land deforested after 31 December 2020, and that it was produced in compliance with the laws of its country of origin. For large operators the deadline is 30 December 2025; for SMEs the deadline is 30 June 2026.
Is Ethiopian coffee EUDR compliant?
Ethiopian coffee can be EUDR compliant provided the exporter supplies GPS coordinates to cooperative or plot level, a due diligence statement, and evidence of legal origin. Ethiopian Arabica supplies all required documentation as standard for EU-bound shipments. Ethiopia is classified as standard risk (not high risk) under EUDR benchmarking.
What GPS data do you provide for EUDR?
We provide GPS polygon coordinates for every cooperative and washing station in our supply chain, down to the kebele (village) level. For direct-trade micro-lots, we can provide plot-level coordinates. All coordinates are formatted for upload to the EU IS (Information System) platform.
Do I need to upload the EUDR data myself or do you do it?
As the EU operator (importer), you are responsible for submitting the due diligence statement to the EU IS before the goods are placed on the market. We provide all the data you need to complete that submission: GPS coordinates, supply chain actors, production country confirmation, and the supporting document set.
Does Ethiopia have a deforestation risk classification under EUDR?
Under the EUDR benchmarking process, Ethiopia is classified as standard risk (not low risk, not high risk) as of June 2026. Standard risk means a due diligence statement is required but a simplified procedure may apply in some cases. We recommend checking the EU Commission's country classification status before importing.
Can I get a sample EUDR due diligence statement before ordering?
Yes. Contact info@premium-ethiopian-coffee.com and we will send a completed sample due diligence statement based on a recent shipment so your compliance team can review the format before committing to an order.
